THE COLOUR NOTES
Build a palette with purpose
Start with a feeling. Give each colour a job.
Choose one starting colour
Pick a colour from something you already like: a piece of artwork, a photograph or an object. Use it as the anchor for your palette rather than trying to choose five unrelated favourites at once.
Give the colours different jobs
Think about a background, a main text colour, a primary accent and a quieter supporting colour. A palette with five equally bold colours can be harder to use than one with a clear hierarchy.
Try it in context
Use the studio preview to see a background, heading and button together. A swatch can look appealing on its own but behave differently when it sits next to another colour.
Refine rather than restart
Lock the colours you like and generate another combination around them. You can edit any swatch directly. Copy the final HEX codes or download the palette for later.
